Mr. Arne Vermeerbergen graduated in 2021 with a Master of Laws from Ghent University, specializing in migration law and human rights. During this program, he spent a semester at the Centre for Human Rights at the University of Pretoria in South Africa. In 2022, he obtained an LLM in International Human Rights Law from the University of Essex, where he collaborated with UNHCR’s Human Rights Liaison Unit and UN Special Rapporteurs.

Subsequently, he completed internships with the Legal Support and Litigation Team of the European Council for Refugees and Exiles and the Legal Unit within the Protection and Policy Section of UNHCR Headquarters in Geneva. He also volunteered in various refugee camps across Europe.

He joined our team in April 2025.
